Chicago Grad Student Enjoying Her Work With Mercer County: Better Together

A Chicago grad student is learning about life in rural Illinois through her work with the group Mercer County: Better Together. As part of Francie Sallinger’s graduate thesis at the University of Illinois she is providing technical assistance to the local project, which is the result of a $6-million estate gift from New Boston sisters Dorothy Looser –Flake and Roberta Looser.

Sallinger told the RFD Radio Network last week that her time in Mercer County has been a great experience.

Sallinger has been serving as a Community & Economic Development Graduate Assistant for the University of Illinois Extension since August of last year.
