Just a couple of days before WRMJ’s 38th birthday, the station is honored for local news, local sports and community service. WRMJ News/Sports Director Jim Taylor was named Best Sportscaster and Best News Reporter by the Illinois Broadcasters Association in the Small Market Division. The Silver Dome Awards were presented last night at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum in Springfield. Taylor was also honored for the station’s community service activity–specifically working with the Rock Island County 4-H Teen Federation and BJ Luxmore Memorial Fund. Taylor also received an IBA Silver Dome Award for his coverage of local products Ethan Happ and Margo Price.
