Local governments starting to sort out the details after the state of Illinois finally has a full operating budget. Consultant Cat Lange with Bellwether discussed the issue with the Mercer County Board last night.
Lange says the county expects to end the fiscal year—November 30th, in the black.
Also last night, the county board delayed electing a new chairman until next month because two county board members were absent. The chairman position is vacant due to the June 29th death of Joe Vann. The board also has 60 days to fill Vann’s District 4 county board seat.
