The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department back at full strength. The department had been down two deputies since June 12th in the aftermath of an officer involved shooting in the Viola area. Both deputies returned last week after being cleared in an investigation conducted by the Henry/Mercer Major Crimes Task Force. Sheriff Dave Staley says there are some challenges being shorthanded.
The deputies–Franklin Wade and Rodney Taylor, returned to work last Thursday.
