New Edwards River Public Library Opens Saturday In Aledo

The new Edwards River Public Library officially opens this weekend in Aledo. A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Ground was broken at the site, located at 412 East Main Street, last June and that’s where WRMJ spoke with library board president Bob Beguelin.

The library has been awarded a $60,000 grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust for costs associated with the construction and furnishing of the new facility. The library has also received a generous gift from General Grind & Machine of Aledo. They will be assuming the cost of the landscaping at the site. The project will be undertaken by Skinner Landscaping of Aledo.
