A Keithsburg man receives a five-year prison term on an aggravated battery conviction. 26 year old Alan Wayne Stanley was sentenced this week in Mercer County Circuit Court after being found guilty of the Class 2 felony by a jury in late August. The sentence was handed down by Judge Peter Church. The charge was in connection with a March of 2018 incident involving a local law enforcement officer. Stanley faced a maximum of seven years in prison. He has been in custody since being convicted last August 26th.
