A weekend disturbance in Mercer County results in a knife wound to one man and the arrest of an out of state man. It happened Friday, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department report. Deputies responded to a report of a physical altercation between two males on Friday at 1127 U.S. Route 67 in Viola. One of the men was stabbed and the other fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later south of the residence. The suspect was identified as 50 year old Gary Lothridge of Telfford, Tennessee. He has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and theft over $500. Lothridge is being held at the Mercer County Jail on $40,000 bond. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released at an area hospital.
