Could the state legislature intervene on behalf of the IHSA for high school sports this fall? Not likely says local State Rep. Dan Swanson. He says that’s an issue between the IHSA and Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education along with the Governor’s office.
The IHSA is meeting with the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education on Friday. The IHSA says they expect the meeting to provide guidance on how they proceed with fall sports. The IHSA Board of Directors will then meet next Wednesday to announce plans for the fall.
