The numbers don’t lie. It’s prime deer/vehicle accident season, which coincides with deer hunting season says Illinois Department of Natural Resources Director Colleen Callahan.
There were 87 deer/vehicle collisions in Mercer County last year with five injuries. There were 318 in Rock Island County with 12 injuries. 87 in Henderson County with four injuries. 192 in Henry County with eight injuries. 134 in Knox County with nine injuries. And there were 106 deer/vehicle collisions in Warren County last year with seven injuries.
