Local Farmer’s Haircut Fundraiser Nets Over $7,000 For Area Foodbank

A Mercer County farmer surpasses his goal and brings more attention to food insecurity issues in the area. Chad Bell was hoping to raise $5,000 with the proceeds going to the River Bend Foodbank. The effort was called “Haircut for Hunger: Harvest for All Fundraiser” and Bell reached $7,160 and then his young children cut his hair, which hadn’t been touched since the early days of the pandemic.

Bell farms in the Viola area.
