There has been plenty of social media chatter in the last week regarding buildings in the Mercer County School District, but no final decisions have been made. That issue will get some attention at a Community Engagement Forum set for next month says Unit 404 Superintendent Scott Petrie.
The Mercer County School District is receiving nearly $3-million in federal stimulus money and some of that can be used for building needs.
A facility study indicates the five buildings within the Mercer County School District need between $12-and $14-million in health safety life updates just to stay up to code.
Bray Architects is conducting the study. Information on their work thus far is available at “mercerschool.org” under “Board of Education Agendas and Minutes”.
