Contestants being sought for this summer’s Mercer County Fair Queen Pageant. The 2020 pageant was cancelled due to the pandemic, so the reigning queen is from 2019, Makaila Hootman, a current senior at United High School. She’s enjoyed her experience with the crown, including competing in the state pageant in January 2020.
During her reign, Hootman has helped raise funds for the Mercer County Honor Marker Project.
