The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department and Mercer County School District have reached an agreement for a school resource officer at Mercer County High School. The two parties have had a relationship since 2019 when a school resource officer was placed at the junior high in Joy. Sheriff Dusty Terrill discussed the high school partnership at this week’s Mercer County Board meeting.
Terrill expects the school resource officer at the high school to be in place by late August. Previously, the school district and City of Aledo had an arrangement in place for a school resource officer at the high school.
