The Looser-Flake Charitable Foundation continues to serve its purpose in Mercer County. Local economic development, cultural, recreational, and educational causes have been on the receiving end says Kelly Thompson with the Quad Cities Community Foundation, which administers the Looser-Flake monies.
The late Dorothy Looser-Flake and Roberta Looser were sisters who were born and raised on a family farm near New Boston Township. Thompson says they cared deeply about the community and left a portion of their estates to establish the charitable foundation to support Mercer County.
