The new congressional map in play for the 2022 election cycle will have a significant impact on much of Mercer County. Most of the county, including Aledo, will no longer be in the 17th Congressional District, but instead in the 15th Congressional District. The redraw of the 15th has two Republican incumbents facing off in the June 28 primary—Rodney Davis and Mary Miller. Davis, from Taylorville, met with the Mercer County Farm Bureau last week.
Miller is from Effingham and has won the endorsement of former President Donald Trump for the June primary.
