Henderson County K9 Unit Jake Tracks Down Burglary Suspect

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department K9 able to track down a burglary suspect. 26-year-old Kurt Scott of Gladstone was arrested Sunday afternoon following a burglary in progress report in rural Biggsville. Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Oquawka Police Department responded to the area. Footprints were located in the snow and the Sheriff’s Auxiliary K9 was deployed for tracking while Sheriff Deputies and the Oquawka Police set up a perimeter. K9 Jake was able to track the suspect and flush him out of a wooded area to a Sheriff’s Deputy, where he was taken into custody. K9 Jake also located articles in the wooded area that were stolen during the burglary. Scott is facing Burglary, Criminal Trespass to Vehicle, Theft, Possession of Burglary Tools, Resisting a Peace Officer, and meth charges. He is being held in the Henderson County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
