Local State Rep. Dan Swanson continues to bring attention to Lyme disease prevention and awareness. He also credits the work of a Mercer County woman and her daughter.
Swanson is reminding residents about a new interactive map tracking Lyme disease in Illinois.
To raise awareness for Lyme disease and urge the federal government to allocate additional funds to find a cure for the disease, Swanson has sponsored House Resolution 780, which was adopted by the House of Representatives Thursday morning. The resolution urges the federal government to allocate more funding toward finding a cure for Lyme disease and declares May 2022 as Lyme Disease Awareness Month in Illinois.
