The Mercer County Board has more discussion on a zoning issue. The matter involves a proposed zoning amendment resulting from debate over a motorsports site west of Matherville in Preemption Township. Instead of a super majority for a zoning change, the amendment calls for a simple majority of the county board, but there was pushback on the amendment from neighbors of the motorsports park. Last July, the motorsports site was seeking rezoning, but received only a 5-3 vote from the county board, which lacked the super majority threshold.
