The new school year set to begin in the Mercer County School District. There will be two new elementary school principals. Dr. Teresa Ibouhouten takes over in New Boston. She has 21 years teaching experience, most recently serving as an instructional coach with the Galesburg School District.
Ibouhouten replaces Marcus Bush in New Boston, who resigned to take the superintendent position in the Rockridge School District.
Chad Robertson, a former Apollo teacher, is now the new principal at Apollo. He replaces Bill Fleutte, who retired at the end of last year.
The first day of student attendance in the Mercer County School District is Thursday.
