U.S. Marshal Service prisoner revenue is down for the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, but there’s still a steady stream of business housing out-of-county inmates at the Mercer County Jail. An update from Sheriff Dusty Terrill.
The fiscal year comes to an end on Nov. 30.
The sheriff’s department receives $65 per day per inmate housed at the jail from the U.S. Marshals Service; Cook County $60; Scott County $55; and Warren County $43 per day per prisoner.
