A local businessman is organizing an effort to create a bigger reward fund for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the home invasion and severe beating of former Mercer County Board member Fred Rooth earlier this week. Greg Boruff of Reason’s Locker Service in Buffalo Prairie spoke with WRMJ News Director Jim Taylor this afternoon.
The 83-year-old Rooth was found badly beaten in his rural Joy home Monday afternoon. Among the items taken was a residential safe. Rooth is hospitalized at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
