The City of Aledo looking for a little more teeth in its enforcement code. The Aledo City Council is considering adopting the 2009 edition of the International Property Maintenance Code prepared by the International Code Council. The city had been operating under the 2003 edition, but City Administrator Erin Knackstedt says the update allows the city some more enforcement power in dealing with such issues as inoperable vehicles and nuisance properties.
The updated code is scheduled to be acted on at the August 7th city council meeting.
