Bald eagles are back in the Quad Cities. Researchers yesterday said they’ve counted about 22 hundred bald eagles along a one mile stretch of the Mississippi River and Rock rivers this year. That’s compared to 957 eagles last year, and 728 eagles the year before. The research teams say Illinois may be seeing more birds this year because of colder weather to the north has frozen the rivers where the birds usually hunt for fish.
