A burglary complaint in rural Aledo leads to the eventual arrest of a Reynolds man. 26 year old Joseph J. Long was taken into custody late this morning after his car became disabled. He fled on foot but was eventually tracked down by Mercer County and Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department Deputies. Long was taken to the Rock Island County Jail where he is being held on a warrant. Charges are pending in Mercer County. The pursuit of Long led to the “soft lockdown” of Sherrard area schools earlier today.
