A welcome home caravan planned for 15 Mercer County area veterans participating in today’s Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Organizer Nick Seefeld says the caravan will involve a police and fire escort back to the Mercer County VFW in Aledo. The route will be from the Quad City Airport and down U.S. 67 to Illinois Route 17 in Viola and then to Aledo. The earliest the group will arrive back in town will be 10:30 p.m. tonight. Seefeld spoke with WRMJ News Director Jim Taylor about the planned caravan.
