A Monmouth man arrested following a weekend accident in Mercer County. A Mercer County Sheriff’s Department release says deputies responded to a Saturday crash on U.S. 67 just north of 132nd Avenue. The report stated that a male subject was seen running from the scene. Deputies and Matherville Fire/EMS searched the area and could not find the driver. He was located a few hours later in Viola and identified as 31 year old Elver Gutierrez. He was transported to the Mercer County Jail and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and felony driving while revoked.
