District Bookkeeper Charged In Theft Investigation Resigns From Unit 404

The Mercer County School District bookkeeper charged in a theft investigation has stepped down from her position. Angie Dellitt’s resignation is on next Wednesday’s Unit 404 Board of Education agenda. She had been on paid leave since July 31st. Dellitt was charged with two Class 2 felony counts earlier this week—one involving the Mercer County Athletic Booster Club and the other involving the Mercer County School District. The count involving the school district alleges unauthorized control of between $500 and $10,000 with the booster club count alleging between $10,000 and $100,000. The counts allege she used the funds for personal use, such as hotel rooms, restaurants, meals and other personal items. Dellitt is free on bond and will appear in Mercer County Circuit Court for arraignment on September 12th.
