Applications Begin Oct. 1 For LIHEAP; Program Administered Locally Through Project NOW

Enrollment in the state’s winter heating assistance program opens in a few weeks. Income eligible seniors and people with disabilities can begin applying for the low-income home energy assistance program or LIHEAP, starting October 1. The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Deidre Coughlin says they can start by making an appointment at a local administering agency.

Locally, LIHEAP is administered through the Mercer County Project NOW office in Aledo. For more information, call 582-2644.
