Week 6 of the high school football schedule kicked off around the area on Friday night. The Mercer County Golden Eagles moved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play with a 49-28 win over West Central. Running back Evan Terrill led the Golden Eagles with 165 yards rushing and 3 total touchdowns. Evan Lilly added 2 touchdowns as well for Mercer County. Orion, ranked number two in Class 2A, beat Fulton 44-7 in a battle of teams undefeated in Three Rivers Rock Division Play. Seth West ran the ball 19 times for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Iowa Hawkeye commit Logan Lee had 3 catches for 55 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sherrard was able to get their first win since September 16, 2016, as the Tigers beat Kewanee 20-19, snapping an 18 game losing streak.
