The Sherrard Tigers used the free throw line to help them down the Mercer County Golden Eagles 45-34 on the road Thursday night. Sherrard outscored Mercer County 24-8 at the charity stripe en route to the win. In other girls play North Fulton beat United 51-40, Erie-Prophetstown 37-26 and Monmouth-Roseville stopped Central-Southeastern 55-52.
In boys basketball, Sherrard dominated Bushnell-Prairie City 62-31, Geneseo over Orion 47-40 and Riverdale handled Morrison 55-43.
