The Mercer County School District mourning the loss of an elementary school student. Calvin Benjamin Smith died Friday. The boy had been battling cancer. The district has announced that Apollo Elementary School will be open from 5-to-7 p.m. Tuesday and counselors will be available. Speer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
