A generator project is moving forward for the Mercer County VFW. The Aledo City Council’s Finance Committee discussed the issue Monday night. The generator, estimated at $50,000, is being donated by General Grind & Machine and will allow the VFW to become an adequate storm shelter says Mayor Chris Hagloch.
Hagloch says also this week, the council’s water committee discussed staffing at the Water Department.
Illinois American Water is paid $7,000 per month under the agreement with the city.
