A local labor union says “shame on Mercer County.” Local 150 of the International Union of Operating Engineers is protesting outside of the Mercer County Courthouse claiming the Mercer County Board is committing unfair labor practices involving labor talks with courthouse, highway department, and sheriff’s department employees. Karl Drapeaux is the union’s business representative.
The county’s last contract with Local 150 expired in November of 2018.
