Much to be excited about in Aledo. Significant investment is being made to a number of buildings in downtown Aledo, including the former Mercer Carnegie Library along with the former Appleton Law Office and Hall’s Shoes storefronts. All of those projects are being led by Aledo native W.J. Albertson. And then last week it was announced that a $700,000 investment is going to be made in the former Gun Report building by Louis Powell. Next to that property is the Mercer County Family Eye Care storefront, which is being renovated. Erik Reader with 353 Court says the projects are all signs of community rebirth, and he’s even hopeful for opportunities for the Button Building and former junior high property.
A multi-million dollar expansion project is also continuing at the Mercer County Family YMCA.
