$100-million in funding for Illinois rural broadband part of last week’s infrastructure package passed by Congress.

Western Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos wants to see internet service providers like the Viola Home Telephone Company receive support. They were awarded USDA funding in 2017.

The USDA funding for the Viola Home Telephone Company amounted to $3.3 million and extended 104-miles of fiber cable and supporting equipment.
