Mercer County Health Department is holding a Certified Food Protection Managers (CFPM) Course on March 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Aledo United Methodist Church. This will be the only classes held in Mercer County until June 21. The Person in Charge (PIC) at your facility must be a CFPM. A PIC must be present at all times food is being prepared and served at Class I and Class II establishments. Individuals who are planning to make non-hazardous foods in their kitchen under the Cottage food Act, must also possess the CFPM license. This is marked as a violation upon inspection if there is not a CFPM on site. Also, all staff must obtain Food Handler training within 30 days of employment. Please note you can complete Food Handler online for a much lower cost of $10. Proof of training must be provided at inspection.
