$2,700 In Restitution Ordered In Mercer County ID Theft Case

An Aledo woman has entered a guilty plea in an ID theft and financial exploitation of elderly case. 40-year-old Tiffany Yingst was facing a total of eight felonies. The case was filed in March of 2021. Her jury trial was scheduled to begin Monday, but last week she pleaded guilty to two Class 3 felonies of aggravated ID theft. The six other counts were dismissed as part of the guilty plea.
Yingst has been placed on 24-months’ probation, fined $2,425 and ordered to pay $2,709 in restitution. She will also serve 30 days in the Mercer County Jail with her surrender date on Nov. 1.
