Darin Dyer, 38 of North Las Vegas, Nevada, died Saturday, September 24, 2022 at University Medical Center, Las Vegas. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, October 7, followed by funeral services at 12:30 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Burial, with military rites, will be in New Boston Cemetery. Memorials may be left for Mercer County V.F.W. or to the family to help with expenses.
Darin Matthew Paul was born July 28, 1984 in Silvis, Illinois, the son of Douglas and Alice Wilson Dyer. Darin was a 2002 graduate of Aledo High School. Darin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2005…serving at the Miramar Air Station and was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan before he was honorably discharged in 2010 as the rank of Sergeant. He then spent 10 years deploying with the Department of Defense as a civilian contractor. Darin was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting game calls and decoys. He also had an extensive sports card collection. Darin loved to go fast, as well as turning a wrench to work on things. He loved spending time with his family and friends and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents: Doug “Duck” (Sandy) Dyer of New Boston and Alice Dyer of New Windsor; his fiancé: Danielle Dye; siblings: Amy Dyer of Elgin, Denise (Garret) Gipson of Aledo, and Victoria (Matt) Terrill of New Boston; as well as his beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
