Crime Stoppers Tips Leads To Arrest Of Texas Man In Oquawka

A Dalton, Texas man has been arrested on multiple felony counts in Henderson County.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office received tips from Crime Stoppers that Joshua A. Goff (age 39) had been in the rural Oquawka area for approximately a month and was a sex offender. Due to Goff’s sex offender status, he is required to report his address to local authorities within 3 days. Upon the Henderson County Sheriff’s Dept. investigation, Goff had not reported to Texas authorities that he would be moving or be in the area of Henderson County.

On Friday, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the sheriff located and arrested Goff sleeping in a tent in rural Oquawka. Subsequent search to the arrest, Goff was found to be in possession of hypodermic syringes and methamphetamine.

Goff is being charged with Unlawful Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (Class 3 Felony), Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Class 3 Felony), and Possession of Hypodermic Syringes (Class A Misdemeanor).  Bond has been set at $50,000.
