An alderman and former longtime teacher set to become the new city administrator for Aledo. The appointment of Mike Chausse is on Monday night’s Aledo City Council agenda. He would begin his new job on Aug. 14. Chausse was just elected to another term on the city council earlier this year. He currently represents the third ward, with his term set expire in 2027, but will be stepping down prior to becoming city administrator. Chausse served for many years as an ag teacher in the Aledo and then Mercer County School District.
The city administrator job had been paired with the police chief job, but the city is splitting the two positions.
Also on the personnel front Monday night, the council will act on a retirement agreement for Nick Seefeld and wage increases for the Aledo Police Department.
