Additional charges have been filed against a New Windsor man already awaiting trial on attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and reckless discharge of a firearm counts.
The latest charges against 32-year-old Trenton Deshane stem from an incident at the Mercer County Jail last week, according to Mercer County State’s Attorney Grace Simpson. In that case, he has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery in a public place.
Deshane has been in jail since July 25. He was arrested following a shooting investigation in New Windsor where a victim was discovered with two gunshot wounds. Deshane’s bond is $750,000 in the shooting case and $500,000 in the jail incident. He remains in custody.
A fitness evaluation was ordered earlier this month. Deshane will return to court Sept. 18.
