Mercer County hunters harvest 827 deer during the two firearm weekends Nov. 17-19 and Nov. 30-Dec. 3. 600 were taken during the first weekend and 227 the second weekend. Last year’s harvest in Mercer County was 775.
The two weekend totals in nearby counties—451 in Henderson County; 459 in Henry; 1,178 in Knox County; 713 in Rock Island County; and 490 in Warren County.
Statewide, the deer harvest was 76,232, which is lower than last year’s total of 76,854.
