The Mercer County Board getting another new member. Tad Nelson of Sherrard is scheduled to be appointed tonight to fill a vacancy in District 3, created by Buck Rind’s resignation this fall. Nelson, an Illinois State Trooper and assistant Sherrard football coach, will serve through the next election, November 2020. Linda Koepke was appointed to fill another vacancy in District 3 in September when Ron Fullerlove resigned to become the county administrator.
