Longtime local ag advocate DeAnne Bloomberg is stepping down from her position as Rock Island County Farm Bureau Manager. She has been named the Director of Issues Management for the Illinois Farm Bureau in Bloomington. In her new role, Bloomberg will coordinate publicity, messaging, social media and communication activities on issues impacting Farm Bureau, agriculture and farmers. She has served as a County Farm Bureau Manager for 27 years in Rock Island, Henry and Boone counties. Bloomberg will begin her new position with the Illinois Farm Bureau on November 26th.
And a 2013 United High School graduate has been hired as a county farm bureau manager in southern Illinois. Gretchen Simpson from Alexis will take over at the Clay County Farm Bureau. Her new job will begin December 1. Simpson graduated from the University of Illinois last spring.
