Bond has been set at $500,000 for a New Boston man arrested in a child abuse investigation. This morning in Mercer County Circuit Court, a Class X felony of aggravated battery was filed against 27 year old Bradley Clark. He was arrested Tuesday following an investigation by the New Boston Police Department with assistance from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. The charge accuses Clark of squeezing a three-month old infant and causing the child’s ribs to become broken at the spine. A preliminary hearing is set for June 4th. Clark remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail.
