Bustos Critical Of Treasury Dept. After Millions Of Stimulus Checks Sent To Dead People

Western Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos expressing criticism after reports surface that the Treasury Department sent stimulus checks to more than a million dead people.

Most checks were about $1,200 each, totaling $1.4-billion.  The Government Accountability Office found the Treasury Department rushed to get the checks out and didn’t look at Social Security death records.  The IRS is now trying to get the checks back.
