Two teams that were expected to meet in the post season met in regular season boys basketball action Wednesday night in Edgington. The Sterling Newman Comets overcame an eight point deficit after three quarters to rally for a 53-46 win over the Rockridge Rockets as they Three Rivers east division met the west. In other play Wethersfield improved to 14-1 beating Knoxville 61-48. United fell to Geneseo 58-51 and Monmouth-Roseville lost at Moline 80-50 as they filled in for some Western Big 6 opponents.
In girls basketball United Township beat Orion 62-44, Brimfield over Wethersfield 70-27 and Mendon Unity beat Monmouth-Roseville 60-59.
