Conditional Release Spelled Out For Violent Mercer County Sex Offender

Darin Brock

65-conditions are part of a former Keithsburg man’s conditional release from Illinois’ Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act. The order was entered today in Mercer County Circuit Court for 48 year old Darin Brock. Among the conditions include continued treatment and evaluation, no firearms and electronic monitoring. He will reside in McLean County in central Illinois with his case reviewed again in a year. Brock was deemed sexually violent in 2000 and gained his first conditional release in 2008, but was confined again in January of 2017 after a battery and disorderly conduct complaint was filed in Bloomington, Illinois where he was residing. He was later acquitted of those charges. At the age of 19, Brock was convicted of sexually assaulting an elderly Joy woman and was sentenced to 20-years in prison. Before his release from prison, the state filed the sexually violent persons’ petition.
