The attorney for a Davenport man convicted in a Mercer County sex assault case, has filed a motion to reconsider sentence. 36-year-old Antonio Cortez Williamson received a 45-year term in the Illinois Department of Corrections in July after he was found guilty of three Class X felony counts in an April bench trial. He received a 15-year sentence for each count, to be served consecutively.
Williamson was arrested in August of 2019 following an investigation by the New Boston Police Department with assistance from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
The case involved one child under the age of 13. Williamson is in custody at the Stateville Correctional Center.
A hearing has yet to be scheduled on the motion, which was filed last week.
