Mercer County topped Hall and Kewanee in boys golf action Monday while Sherrard handled Ridgewood and Mid-County. Mercer County shot a 183, Hall was next at 199 and the Boilermakers at 211. Gage Lager lead the Golden Eagles with a 45. Sherrard fired a 160, Ridgewood a 168 and Mid-County a 189. The Tiger’s Brennan Welch lead the way with a 34. Orion topped Annawan-Wethersfield 208 to 222 in other action.
Mercer County defeated AlWood 8-3 to open the junior high softball season. Elsie Cook got the win.
In cross country, Knoxville edged the Mercer County girls by one point and the Mercer County boys won over the Blue Bullets. No team scores were submitted.
